Big Red is a variety of cream soda created in 1937 in Texas and was originally known as Sun Tang Red Cream Soda. It’s a much loved American variety of cream soda and the original red cream soda, known for its unique taste and red colour. The flavour of Big Red Soda is often mistaken for bubble gum but it is actually cherry and soda.
It’s so popular in Southern America that the 16th May 2018 was proclaimed "Big Red Day" in Louisville as recognition of the 80th anniversary of Big Red being sold there.

Cream of Jack
- 50ml Jack Daniel's Whiskey
- 50ml Amaretto
- American Cream Soda
Pour the Jack Daniel's Whiskey and Amaretto into a highball glass with ice. Then add the cream soda and kick back.
Sloe Gin Fizz
- Ice, as needed
- 50ml Sloe Gin
- A squeeze of lemon juice
- 1 tsp sugar syrup
- American Cream Soda to top up
Fill a highball glass with ice and pour in the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup and stir well. Top up with America cream soda and garnish with a blackberry and a sprig of mint. With the addition of American cream soda, this sloe gin cocktail is very sweet and drinkable.
